The well-oiled non-Machine

Q: When is a machine not a machine?

A: When it’s composed of people.

At SENS, we work with businesses and other organizations to achieve breakthroughs in their corporate culture, efficiency and morale. We do this using a revolutionary way of thinking about workplace mental health and motivation that is rooted in keen understanding of human nature, systems and group behavior.

MAkING SENS OF MODERN WORK

You, the individual thinker, the cogitative entrepreneur, the restless innovator—you’re who we’ve been looking for. You don’t like the status quo, don’t want a canned solution or one that’s slightly modified and lackluster. You want to work with somebody who will come in and really look for innovative, hidden openings and achieve something that seems intangible, but somehow that exactly matches your vision. That feeling no one can quite put their finger on, but just works—like what makes a great party just vibe or a well-decorated room feel effortless.

Welcome to SENS Business Consulting, where we don’t sell dreams; we tailor realities. In short, we are who you call when do you want people to look at your business with awe and envy, thinking: why didn’t I think of doing it that way? or how the hell did they pull that off?

At SENS business advisory services, we are known for our focus on design. We think of ourselves as orchestrators of science, intuition, and artistry. Our special talent is helping you understand, wrangle, and disentangle the complex internal and external systems that impact your business. (Sorry if you were here looking for another personality test or meditation app for your employees.) In our founder Dr. Britt’s hands, innovation isn’t outsourced or manufactured; it’s a cultivated, integral part of your business environment, functioning with precision and imbued with a sophisticated charm that makes success feel both natural and inevitable.

In the tangled web of commerce and politics, the heart of success often lies in the hearts of your people. It is the hidden thoughts and emotions that drive actions and decisions, impacting productivity, collaboration, and morale.

We understand this better than anyone because we have decades of combined experience serving the mental health needs of people just like you and your employees. We hear lots of stories about painful attempts that go too far, such as an environment that becomes so relaxed and flexible that indulgence eclipses productivity OR attempts that fall flat— consultants who were brought into “make things fun,” but instead people’s eyes are glazing over! Fun doesn’t happen when it’s forced. On the other hand, real synergy is unstoppable.

So here are few basic points to consider: 1) everyone is a little bit crazy some of the time; 2) those “crazy” people you have in mind may not be as crazy as you think; 3) there is a silent majority of your workforce that agrees on often very simple ways your organization could improve; and 4) we have heard the detailed inner workings of employees real work issues for years, and people tell us things they don’t tell anyone else, certainly not the coaches and consultants they tell us about.

Recognizing and deeply understanding the implications of these basic truths is the essence of the breakthroughs we will help you unlock for your organization. Sometimes the changes required can be shockingly small, but they take skill and nuance to discover. Listening is only the beginning; you have to hear not only what people are saying but what they are not saying, and how. These are the specialized tools of the clinical trade. Above all, it takes a knack for knowing the right questions to ask, and the connections might not be apparent at first. Sometimes it’s simply a matter of getting rid of a problem that’s so obvious once you remove it that you can’t believe you did it in that way for so long.

We’ll be honest: we’re not the right choice for a lot of organizations. Are you the kind of leader who wants people to respect you not just because you’re powerful, or because of the financial gains and the growth the the volume of growth you’ve achieved (which, let’s be honest they’re gonna be pretty impressed by too)—but also because you’ve created a great environment and helped to make their lives and the lives of other people around you better. You want everybody that you interact with to feel like they’re a better person for knowing you, that you are a true inspiration to them for the kind of person you are, not just for the things that you have.

At SENS, we understand all this as well because we have seen countless people like you for individual psychotherapy as well. What can be so dangerous about success and getting into powerful positions is how easy it is to lose your sense of direction and meaning. Some people start to become greedy, just wanting a little bit more; or to become desperate that they are going to lose what they have. The real way to have more is to be an inspiration and to really know that you are making your employees’ lives better.

If this is your vision for where you want to go, get in touch. You need the unique perspective and fresh ideas we bring to the table.
