Olivia Haufler

I love helping people, DC brunch, and True Crime. And, if life doesn’t go your way, there’s always ice cream with sprinkles!

About Olivia

  • School: Olivia Haufler is a graduate of the University of Virginia and holds a master’s degree in forensic psychology from the George Washington University. Ms. Haufler is interested in the intersection of criminal justice and mental health and the long-term risks of mental pathology and incarcerated populations.
  • Research: She recently completed an internship at the New Mexico Center for Forensic Psychology, where she wrote competency evaluations and learned to conduct forensic interviews. Ms. Haufler’s coursework at the George Washington University heavily focused on policy and systemic issues in the criminal justice realm, and so she hopes to continue researching topics such as police training, stigmatization of sex work, and re-entry programs.
  • Why She Joined SENS: At SENS, Olivia enjoys working on the clinical side of psychology, and is passionate about consulting with new patients to make them feel comfortable, heard, and informed on the services provided by SENS. She hopes to apply to Ph.D. programs in Clinical Psychology next fall to pursue her research interests and a career as a psychologist in private practice.
  • Why You’ll Love Her: Outside of work, Olivia spends her time exploring Washington D.C., reading psychological thrillers, cooking international cuisines, and catering to her dog Giuseppe’s every bark and call.
  • Guilty Pleasure: I am obsessed with the soap opera Days of Our Lives, and have been since I was 14.
